Many times after a tree has fallen, we found the cause was due to white rot. White rot is hard to detect before a tree falls, but there are some signs to look for. Inspect the base of the tree for mushrooms, inspect underneath the bark, ensure the environment is not overly wet (this encourages the fungus growth).
