After pruning or trimming a tree, many homeowners will ask us to use pruning paint to cover the wounds. Much to their surprise, pruning paint can actually be bad for a tree. The pruning paint interrupts a trees natural healing process, it can also trap moisture in the tree and encourage wood decay.
